ICAV began as an informal network in 1998 and continues as a registered entity operating internationally, thanks to the efforts of our team who volunteer their time and energies.
The ICAV Board and Representatives volunteer their time to connect and facilitate support to intercountry adoptees in a variety of ways.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
AMERICAN REPRESENTATIVES
This role acts as a central point and enables intercountry adoptees to connect into the ICAV worldwide network. Some of these Representatives are involved in advocacy at government level.
AUSTRALIAN STATE REPRESENTATIVES
This role acts as the central point of contact for new intercountry adoptees coming into the network. The ICAV Rep helps connect adoptees to others in their State, ensure they are aware of adoptee led social events; liaise with the State government departments (seeking intercountry adoptees wishing to be involved in prospective parent eduction seminars) and state based NGO post adoption organisations. Where possible the ICAV Rep also attends Federal government meetings to advocate and represent the needs and interest of adoptees.
CANADIAN REPRESENTATIVE
This role acts as the central point of contact for new intercountry adoptees, helping them connect to others and ensure they are aware of adoptee led events. Where possible the ICAV Rep also attends government meetings to advocate and represent the needs and interest of adoptees.
EUROPEAN REPRESENTATIVES
This role acts as a central point and enables intercountry adoptees to connect into the ICAV worldwide network. Where possible the ICAV Rep also attends government meetings to advocate and represent the needs and interest of adoptees.
