Melanie Kleintz

Germany Representative

My name is Melanie Kleintz. I was born in 1979 in Peru and adopted by German parents when I was 2 years old. I grew up with 4 siblings (3 adopted from Peru and Chile) in the middle of Germany.

I am a certified educator and university graduate in social pedagogue and systemic family therapy. I work with adult abuse victims and violent crime victims on a helpline.

I organised the first meeting for Peruvian intercountry adoptees in 2011. That was the beginning of the group Adoptierte aus Peru. The first meeting for German based intercountry adoptees was in 2014 in Wesel. I also founded the group Auslandsadoptierte in Deutschland which was renamed Adoptierte aus aller Welt (Adoptees from all over the world). If you are a German based intercountry adoptee (born somewhere else, adopted to Germany), you are welcome to join.

In my work, I provide specialist coaching in adoption to adoptees, adoptive parents and parents without children. I provide coaching for those seeking their origins, relationships with partners, bio families and adoptive parents.
