Betelihem Skehill was adopted from Ethiopia in 2000 and is currently residing in Victoria. She has gone back to her birth country several times which has helped to fill in some gaps.
In 2019 Betelihem appeared on the SBS Insight tv program Adopted Abroad to share some of her experiences growing up in Australia as an intercountry adoptee.
She is passionate about using her experiences to empower, advocate and create a positive impact for adoptees, adoptive families and biological parents.
Betelihem has gained her Bachelors and Honours degrees in Fine Arts and currently works in the disability sector where she uses AUSLAN to support individuals gain more independence and achieve their personal goals.
