Anna is a Filippino adoptee residing in Queensland (QLD), Australia. She was raised with a sister who was also adopted. At twenty-one, Anna traced her biological mother and was able to reunite with her, discovering more of her story and past. Parts of this journey were featured in the SBS documentary “Are you my mother?” that aired on Australian TV in 2008. In the process of discovering her origins and reconciling pieces of her past Anna has now dedicated her life to supporting and helping others impacted by adoption.
Anna Kopeikin began her working life as a Graphic Designer, accumulating a decade of experience in creative design, including graphics and print disciplines. She has lent her expertise to national brands and campaigns as well as working within an international marketing and strategy advertising agency. Anna’s quirky creativity still thrives in all her life passions.
After exploring her own adoption journey, Anna has a respectful understanding and appreciation for all the members of the adoption triad. This interest prompted a career change and she is now pursuing study as adoption support counsellor. Anna has a number of years of experience and service on the International Adoptive Families of Queensland (IAFQ) Committee, and active involvement with Queensland adoption support organisations such as Jigsaw Queensland and Post Adoption Support Queensland (PASQ). She firmly believes in developing practical support to empower, encourage and connect the adoption community.
